One great way to promote wellness in the work place is to offer flu shots at work. Hiring a licensed agency to come into your company and administer flu shots to workers wishing to receive one for no or little cost, is a good way to promote wellness.

Not only will you be offering a benefit to your workforce, but you will be lowering the number of illnesses throughout the office during flu season.

Another way to promote worker health promotion is to plan a walk-a-thon. Corporations can encourage their staff to sign up to walk a certain number of miles on a specific day instead of working.

To make this even more beneficial, personnel can seek out sponsors for the walk-a-thon and donate the money collected to a local charity. This is a great way to give back to the community while stimulating exercise and team building.

A lot of studies have shown the benefits of mind/body workouts such as Pilates and yoga. They have been shown to reduce stress, improve health and provide a great workout at the same time. A lot of company are seeing the advantage to offering these mind/body workouts in the worksite.

Offering an exercise plan like yoga during lunch is an excellent employee health promotion choice for businesses on a budget. They not only increase morale, but help staff members refocus for the rest of the workday.

These are just three of the many ways organizations can start employee wellness programs. These wellness programs don’t have to be extravagant or expensive. Taking just a few baby steps toward employee wellness can go a long way.
